my ps3 has finally arrived!
my dad decided to help me order because he is good friends with this sony shop guy haha.. 1 year free warranty to boot.
thanks to him i've managed to lay my hands on the special mgs4 game package as well.
points to note when you are buying a ps3
- note the HDMI cable does not come with the bundle, you have to purchase it seperately. sony gives you an AV composite cable (the same as the one in your ps2)
for those interested in buying, don't be conned by sales people (especially sls uncles) about the differences between a cheap and expensive HDMI cable, because graphics wise, they are all the same. It depends on your tv/monitor (whether it being true 1080i/p or like mine only 720p, i.e your expensive Sony Bravia set would give you the best top notch graphics unlike my monitor, which has only the "nice on the eye but good enough" graphics) and whether your using a HDMI cable or an AV composite (your standard red yellow white wires).

another thing to take note is the issue about regions pertaining to Blu-Rays.
Games are Region Free ( so an asian set can play a uk game vice versa )
Movie Blu Rays are not Region Free
sls uncles will ask you for an upgrade in order to convince you to make your set region free. (unlike the old ps2 upgrade where you can play pirated games, as of now there are no pirated ps3 games)
if you want to watch movies, go to a theater! or just purchase a similar region blu ray. easy and simple ?
bloody uncles at sls were trying to cheat my arse off..
now for the pictures !
how the "master" stands up to the "disciple"
the 2 buttons are touch sensitive so don't let itchy fingers touch it!
charging the wireless controller via the two usb hubs. the green light shows the wi-fi internet connection is on (means more online gaming and demo downloads for your machine!)
The sixaxis. unfortunately this version doesn't have the vibration function because sony cleverly decided to release the dual shock 3 like ten thousand years after they packaged this with all the ps3s. the middle button connects your wireless controller (like the xbox360) and acts like your "home" button on your psp.
the main menu (reminds me of the psp main screen) and the installation screen for mgs4
i can't wait for final fantasy 13 to come out. till then i'll have to be satisfied with metal gear 4 haha.
